A Câmara Municipal de Manaus (CMM) aprovou, nesta segunda-feira (22/09), o parecer ao Projeto de Lei nº 191/2023, de autoria da vereadora Yomara Lins (Podemos), que autoriza a instalação de portais detectores de metal e o uso de aparelhos manuais em escolas da rede pública e privada da capital.
A proposta está em tramitação na 2ª Comissão de Constituição, Justiça e Redação (CCJR) da CMM e busca reforçar a segurança no ambiente escolar. O texto prevê que os equipamentos tenham a função de identificar objetos metálicos, como armas de fogo, facas e até substâncias ilícitas embrulhadas em papel alumínio.
Conforme o projeto, caberá ao Poder Executivo municipal regulamentar a aplicação da medida, caso ela seja aprovada. Isso inclui a definição sobre prazos, formas de instalação e responsabilidades pelo uso dos detectores.
Se aprovado nas comissões, o projeto seguirá para votação em plenário.
Uso do dispositivo
A iniciativa surgiu em 2023 após ataques a instituições de ensino no país, como o caso registrado em Cambé (PR), onde dois alunos foram mortos por um ex-estudante. Na época, o tema gerou forte debate entre vereadores sobre formas de prevenir tragédias semelhantes em Manaus.
Com a repercussão do caso, decisão do Tribunal de Justiça do Amazonas (TJAM) estipulou o uso do item nas escolas da capital. Com o projeto de lei, a medida passa a ser acompanhada e prevista em orçamento da prefeitura.
O episódio também refletiu em outras cidades como Goiânia, que já usa os detectores para revistar mochilas de alunos.
